8 short months

I swear I JUST posted the seven month update, what is going on here?? Of course I'm a week late too, but we just got back from DISNEYLAND! I'll have to post about that trip soon, it went great. For some reason, this one is hitting me hard. My boys can't be 8 months old yet, can they? Again, it seems like a million new things have happened in the past month. Teeth, crawling, pulling themselves up, our first plane ride together, finishing swimming lessons... so much has happened. So, like last month, here's the 'both babies' part. Sleep is about the same as last month, down at 7, up about twice a night, and we have some early risers lately. 7 AM is a major sleep-in for them. I am so happy that Jamie is more of a morning person than I am, because he gets up with the boys so I can get a little more sleep. Love that. They're both still in 6 month clothing, and we just recently graduated to size THREE diapers! They are both extremely squirmy, and it's usually pretty much impossible to change their diapers. They love rolling over to their tummies and making it as difficult as possible. Solids are going great, and the boys are both little piggies. They eat oatmeal every night, and then we give them mum mums, pieces of fruit, beans, chicken, puffs etc during the day. We are still doing our mall workouts, and I recently sold my Britax stroller and got a BOB! I am absolutely in love with it, best purchase ever. The boys nap like angels on walks, so I have been putting on at least 5K a day and getting out in the fresh air with the babies. We all love it! We're due for some snow this weekend, so I'm worried about being stuck in the house. Yikes. Naps simply don't happen at home. They're always either on the road, or in the stroller. We're going to have to start figuring out how to get them to nap at home, but I don't even know where to start....

They are such sweet boys. Even though we are in the middle of some extreme teething and our second cold, they are still about as happy as we could expect them to be. Mom and Dad can't wait for this cold to end though, they aren't normally quite this clingy, that's for sure! It's been a long couple of nights, hopefully not many more! They'll be a year old before we know it, I'm so sad at that. I kind of want them to stay this age forever!! I love them so much!!

Adam, my Mommy's boy! Adam is such a sweetheart, and loves cuddling. He is starting to realize that he should have been working on his crawling back when Scott started, so he's a little behind his brother with that respect. He can army crawl pretty well, but usually seems fairly content to stay in one spot. He loves eating, and is getting really good at feeding himself. It's amazing to see his little pincher grip working to get those puffs in his mouth. He was grinning at Scott when I was holding them close the other day, so I think he's finally starting to realize that he loves his little brother! He's recently started to enjoy squirting milk everywhere after he's finished nursing, which is no fun for me, but he seems to find it hilarious. Typical man! In the bath his main goal is to ensure that as much water as possible ends up outside of the tub, and achieves this by holding a washcloth and flinging it around with all of his might. He was a little bit slower with getting teeth, but BOTH bottom teeth have just sprouted in the past 24 hours. We can now feel them, but they're not really sticking out quite yet. Should be happening within a day or two. His new favourite toy is an empty coffee cup, he will play with one for close to an hour. He is starting to walk when we hold his hands, but tends to cross over his feet a little bit while doing so, he'll get it down soon. He is great at sitting, and overall just such a darling little guy. He is starting to babble, and loves going 'bababababa' at the top of his lungs, adorable!!

Scott, Scotty, Scoot! My little mover and shaker! This little guy is on the go, constantly! He has completely mastered crawling, and is flying around our house like a little maniac. He is now able to pull himself up to a kneeling position no problem, and quite often he will lean and stand. I think he'll be furniture walking before we know it. He is such an active, funny little guy, always grinning with his big dimples. He is into everything; The laundry basket, my nightstand, tables with magazines, the fridge.... You get the point. Time to baby-proof I guess! He has two giant chompers on the bottom, and I'm sure number 3 will be coming soon as well. He is a great eater, and can feed himself his puffs now too. He gets so excited for his mum-mum after dinner, it's adorable. He loves bathtime too, especially this little bath toy he plays with every night. He is very into 'peek-a-boo' and the mat by our back door. Jamie has a bit of a habit of leaving his sandals out (we do a lot of BBQing year round) and Scott is obsessed with them. He is such a sweet little guy, and catching up to 'big bro' in the weight dept. So proud of him!
