Okay, so first - a follow up to my last post. Things were going awful in their own room. I'm talking hourly wake ups, at least. It would take numerous tries (of transferring them asleep after nursing) to get them to stay asleep in their cribs, and they would be up constantly. Starting close to a week ago, we are 'sleep training' out of desperation. I hate the term 'sleep training'. We're not trying to make them abide by 'our' schedules. We just want them to be able to fall asleep without movement or a boob in their mouths, and to stay asleep. I guess we're loosely following the Ferber Method. We're checking in at certain intervals (more than what they suggest actually), to comfort and soothe. We're on night 6, and it's getting a lot easier. Both babies are falling asleep really fast, and although Adam has had a 'not wanting to stay asleep' issue, Scott has been mostly sleeping like a rock, aside from waking for feedings around 1 and 4. We're not fully there yet (although I'm not expecting them to sleep through the night!) but it's been a huge improvement. I still bring the babies in bed with me in the morning, I love my cuddles. It's actually nice too, they used to have to be latched anytime they were in bed with us, but now they will just sleep in between Jamie and I. Either way, we made the jump (which was a hard one to make!!) and I really think letting them cry a little bit was the right thing to do. We were all overtired. The boys were crabby, I was crabby, it sucked. Hoping the improvements continue from here!
Okay, back to the update! Because the boys are getting so different, I think I'm going to switch this up a bit and first put what applies to both, and then put specific stuff about each baby under their own updates. So lets see, both boys have graduated to 6 month clothing, and are still in size 2 diapers. They have started solids, and both of them LOVE eating. They are such little piggies. We've been doing purees mainly so far, but they've also had baby mum mums (rice rusks) and tried gumming on apples and steamed carrots etc. In the past month, we've started swimming lessons! Both boys are a little unsure, but seem to enjoy it enough. The best part for them is hanging on to the little rubber duckies they get to 'swim' after and chewing on them. We are also doing mall workouts every Tuesday, and sometimes they're good boys and actually sleep through it! There has actually only been one time I need to hold a baby (Scott!!) and I just chalk it up to him wanting me to get a little bit of an extra burn, what a sweet boy.
They have another potential role in a made for TV movie, we're just waiting to hear if they are keeping the baby part or if they're not needed. Hopefully they get it! We go for long walks at least a few times a week, and that's a great way to get them to nap. Jamie has also started taking them for drives in order to get them to sleep... Naps are not our friend right now!! No toothies yet, but I think one must be coming soon. They had their most recent checkup earlier this month and they are both healthy as horses, and right about where they should be for their 'actual' age vs their 'adjusted age'. Still breastfed, and still refusing bottles! I'm going to have to find something to do with 300 oz of frozen breastmilk, yikes. They have been in their own room now for at least a couple weeks, and we sold the extra crib. It's amazing to have my nightstand back! Overall, time is flying by way too fast, and I'm more than half way through my maternity leave, NOOOO!!! Slow down time, just a bit.

Scotty, my little man! Scott is my little mover and shaker! He is impossible to keep on his back, and loves to squirm onto his stomach during diaper changes. He is learning how to crawl, and I think it will be officially happening very soon. He spends most of his time on his hands and knees, rocking back and forth. He's figured out that he needs to move his back legs, now he just needs to get the hands going at the same time, and he'll be all set! He can manage to get around by lifting his body into an upside down V and kind of throwing himself forward. It's not pretty, but it works! He is so focused though, he'll get it before I know it. He's been a pretty good sleeper (although right now I can see him flopping around at 11:15PM, go to sleep child!) now that we put him down on his tummy. He always crams his body into the corner of his crib, and we've ordered Wonder Bumpers, because we hear far too many 'bonks' of his head as he's getting comfortable. He is very impatient at dinner time and will get quite upset if he's not fed fast enough. How dare we take a bite of our own food?? He is still obsessed with the jolly jumper, and can get going pretty good in there. He tries to be friends with his big bro, and hopefully one day soon Adam will feel the same way, haha! He gets plenty of Mommy snuggles at least. His favourite song is 'wheels on the bus' and sometimes it's the best way to get him to stop while crying. He has a very wide smile, and his hair is starting to grow, just a little slower than Adam's.
