Big boys - 11 Months old! |
In less than a month, my (not so) little dudes will be ONE. I can't believe it. Maybe I can just pretend that they're not actually 1 until their due date, that will buy me more time before I have to face my babies growing up... Life has been awesome! We've been having so much fun, and we're really starting to get (some) sleep around here. The boys are plumping up nicely, mostly due to the fact that they are bottomless tanks when it comes to eating. I am afraid for our future grocery bills....
Lets start with sleep - We finally seem to have an overnight schedule that is awesome (for us). The boys are down by 7, with a feeding between midnight and 1:30, and another one between 5-6 AM. They then stay in bed until around 7:30-7:45. I know they're still up twice a night, but I am so happy with that. I go to bed after the first feeding, and so it's really only like one waking for me. The boys occasionally wake up at other times, but put themselves back to sleep within a couple of minutes. It is pretty great. Still nowhere near perfect or full on sleeping through the night, but I am glad we're not going backwards at least. Naps are a little less successful. They typically go down about an hour after they wake up, and that is about 30 minutes for Adam, maybe 45 for Scott. Adam also likes to skip that nap sometimes too. They nap again after lunch - about an hour, max. Occasionally we'll get a late afternoon nap in too, usually if we're driving home from somewhere or out for a walk though. Not fantastic, but it is what it is. Good thing I'm quick when it comes to showers.
My Mom and I took the boys to the beach for the first time - it was a lot more work than you would think! I of course brought everything but the kitchen sink... and sun hats. Mommy fail! We got there and made our way down to the tide pools. Adam instantly loved sitting in the water (and eating the sand) but Scott had a little bit of a meltdown to start. Eventually he joined in the fun and they both splashed and ate sand for a little bit. We had to leave quickly of course (due to the lack of hats) so after that we got some ice cream and went for a nice long walk. Over the May long weekend, I took the boys to the rodeo with my parents. Jamie isn't a big fan of fairs, so he stayed home and did some pressure washing - works for me! We mostly just walked around and looked at things, but the boys had a lot of fun! We actually ran into my inlaws too, what a small world! Can't wait for next year when the boys will be flying around the rodeo... Actually, maybe I can wait.
I recently rejoined the gym, so the boys have been to childminding a few times now. They do great! It's such a proud Momma moment to see your little kiddos interacting with someone who is not immediate family and being okay. They're growing so fast right before my eyes! We still go on lots of walks, and they are finally able to use the BOB snack tray. It holds lots of cheerios for them, which they love. They eat everything. They love grilled cheese, PB & J sandwiches, pasta, peas, corn, BBQ pulled chicken, cheddar bunnies, cheese, applesauce, fruit pouches, cheerios, broccoli, pancakes, french toast.... pretty much anything and everything. I can't think of anything they actually don't really like, although they aren't quite as fond of eggs as they used to be. I am still nursing them several times a day, and don't see them weaning any time too soon. They are still in size 3 diapers, and for clothes we're kind of between the 9 month and 12 month stuff. We've been stuffing them into some 9 month sleepers and I think we're almost at the point where that's not working anymore! I love how they get into mischief together, they're always off exploring different things and causing trouble. I wish I could express how much I love them, but I don't know how to explain it. They make my heart explode dozens of times a day though, even when they're driving me crazy.

Adam, Adam, Addy-Cadabby. My big boy! Adam has really started getting around this month! He was crawling great before, but now he is a pro with the walker, and has figured out how to get from his tummy into a sitting position. It was so cute, he first did a sort of mermaid pose on his side, then he turned that into a goalie pose (one leg out to the side, one leg behind him) and now he can finally get situated right on his butt to play with toys. I love it. He loves his rubber ducky and rubber froggy (fwoggy) and will happily crawl around with one in his mouth, one in his hand. He'll be so happy when he can finally walk so he can have two hands to easily hold things. He is a pro furniture walker, and has started to 'let go' while standing to see if he can balance on his own... Which he's no good at yet. He is super ticklish, very chatty and a giant Mommy's boy. Adam has a growl like no other. He'll be playing with toys and growling away like crazy, too funny. He likes to crawl around things and under things, always exploring. He tends to steal from Scott too. He'll have a full tray of food, and he'll be reaching across grabbing food from Scott's tray. He now has 7 teeth (4 top, 3 bottom) and I'm sure that 4th bottom tooth will be coming through eventually. He loves to throw toys out of the tub during his baths, especially soaking wet wash clothes. He is so precious, I love him!

Scoot Scoot. My little goober! He is still just the funniest, goofiest little guy. We call him a 'slack jawed yokel' when he has his big grin, it's so cute. Scotty is a Daddy's boy, through and through. I mean, he loves me to death, but man - he loves his Daddy! He is so silly. When he eats something yummy, or after his finishes nursing, he will (loudly) smack his lips for a few minutes. He still loves 'eeeee-ing' but is starting to babble way more now, catching up to Adam! He is a very messy eater, and loves to shove handfuls in his mouth at once. He likes blowing spit bubbles and raspberries all of the time. He has learned to problem solve, like how to hold open the toilet lid so Adam can splash in there. What a helpful brother! He loves when Jamie puts the pond game on the iPad, and he will happily splash, but always wants to see the bottom of the iPad too. I don't think he quite understands how the water sound works! He is a great sleeper, and usually sleeps on average 30-45 minutes more than Adam each day. He has 7 teeth (4 top, 3 bottom) and more to come soon I'm sure. He loves furniture walking, but isn't super comfortable letting go to try to stand on his own yet. He will often grab the walker and go across the kitchen on his own too. I still can never get him to sit on his bum; he always wants to be kneeling or crawling. Hard to get little man to sit still! He is so funny, biggest grin in the world, and one of my little sunshines. I love him!
